GODELMANN is a family-run concrete stone company headquartered in Fensterbach (Bavaria). For more than 75 years, the company has been developing and manufacturing concrete stones for demanding outdoor space design: paving stones, terrace slabs, wall stones, ecological surface coverings and design elements. Series production takes place on a 30 ha site at the headquarters with five paving stone machines and two slab presses; hand-crafted special items and one-off pieces are produced in the company's own concrete manufactory, also made to measure up to approx. 6 x 3 m. High-performance concretes (e.g. ≥ C70/85, exposed concrete class SB4), colour-matched natural stone premium chippings and sands as well as regional sand and gravel from the company's own extraction sites are used. In the in-house stone laboratory, formulations and new raw materials are developed; a finishing line treats surfaces, for example by hydrophobisation or blasting. 566 employees at seven locations in Germany and two in the Czech Republic supply private and public projects, urban and road construction as well as garden and landscape construction; delivery is carried out with the company's own Bio-LNG truck fleet. Production has been emission-compensated (Scope 1 and 2) since 2015, and the products are Cradle to Cradle Certified.

Quality and certification

Product quality is ensured in the in-house stone laboratory through formulation and product development; concrete grades such as ≥ C70/85 and exposed concrete class SB4 are documented product-specifically. An energy management system according to ISO 50001 is certified by DEKRA, and the Corporate Carbon Footprint is verified by TÜV Rheinland.

History

1. 1947

   Founded by Karl Godelmann in Hiltersdorf with five employees; production of prefabricated slabs, wall and concrete roof tiles as well as beavertail tiles

2. 1960er

   Bernhard Godelmann senior joins and focuses on paving stones; first 'Behaton' stone produced

3. ca. 1970

   First major contract in Munich: construction of the Olympic Stadium

4. 1980

   Establishment of the headquarters in Fensterbach; crusher plant and rainwater utilization

5. 1990er

   Bernhard Godelmann junior expands production to slabs, wall stones and special elements; opening of the concrete manufactory

6. 1995

   Groundbreaking for the Ideas Garden and new office building in Fensterbach

7. Anfang der
