About Nakamoto Forestry Europe

Nakamoto Forestry Europe, the trade name of GoodWood GmbH, produces and distributes Yakisugi (also called Shou Sugi Ban), a wood façade cladding made from Sugi, the Japanese cypress, charred according to the traditional Japanese method. The company covers the entire value chain from its own forest stands to the finished product (Forest to Finished Product) and, according to its own statements, is the only supplier of the original product in Europe. In addition to charring in the surface variants Gendai, Pika-Pika and Suyaki, the company offers treatment of the wood with wood oils and comparable coatings. The products are used for exterior façades on private buildings and public buildings as well as for interior fit-out in hotels, restaurants and residential properties; reference projects include, among others, the Jägermeister Barrel Warehouse and the Georg Breuer winery. Delivery takes place throughout the EU as well as worldwide.
