Recyclable films and packaging for over 50 years
GORDOPACK Gesellschaft für Kunststoffverpackungen mbH is a film manufacturing plant based in Lindlar near Gummersbach and has been producing plastic packaging made from polyethylene since 1972. The product portfolio includes flat bags, poly bags, shrink bags, apple and knot bags, shirt carrier bags, machine and shrink film as well as hood covers, mattress and furniture covers, garment protection covers and carpet film – printed or unprinted. Production takes place by blown film extrusion on 22 extrusion lines and converting on 11 automated machines in three-shift operation 360 days a year at a capacity of 1,700 tonnes per month (as of 2017). Bags are produced in widths of 150 to 2,000 mm and lengths up to 3,500 mm (shrink film with side gusset up to 5,000 mm). The company returns film waste to the material cycle via its own in-house recycling plant; for the GP-Loop product line, post-consumer recyclate (PCR) is used. Customers come from food, grocery retail, furniture, textile cleaning, mattresses, carpets and industrial pallet packaging. In addition to production and logistics, Gordopack offers customs clearance and container shipments as well as CO2 footprint calculation via ClimatePartner.
