70 Years of High-Voltage Fittings from Kistlerhofstraße
Gorny Hochspannungstechnik GmbH is a medium-sized company based at Kistlerhofstraße in Munich that develops and manufactures high-voltage fittings for outdoor switchgear and overhead lines. The product range includes switchgear fittings for conductors with diameters of 10 to 300 mm and voltage levels up to 800 kV, as well as overhead line fittings such as tension clamps, suspension clamps, spacer dampers and current clamps for conductors from 7 to 50 mm. The company is a partner of German and international energy supply companies. All products are manufactured exclusively in the company's own plant in Munich, with a high level of vertical integration in toolmaking, forging, foundry and welding. Aluminium forged parts are produced on three forging presses, cast parts using sand and permanent mould casting; the melting furnaces and the entire production are powered by renewable energy. In addition to series production of around 8,000 basic clamps in more than 200,000 variations, Gorny also offers custom-made products and individual solutions.

Additional services
Quality
The load capacity of the products is tested in-house on a tensile testing machine directly on site; tensile tests are also possible with high-temperature ropes under electrically generated heat. Monitored processes, a high level of vertical integration and long-serving employees ensure product quality.

History
- 1898
Founding of Wirschitz & Co. by Eduard Wirschitz (roots of the company).
- 1930er
Start of the development and production of high-voltage fittings; first tension and suspension clamps made of aluminium.
- 1936
Franz Wirschitz takes over the company from his father.
- 1954
Move into the new production hall at Kistlerhofstraße 124, Munich.
- 1977
Founding of Gorny in Munich; production of high-voltage fittings.
