About Hofbrauhaus Freising
Gräfliches Hofbrauhaus Freising is a traditional brewery in Freising (Upper Bavaria) whose beers are marketed under the Hofbrauhaus Freising brand. First documented in 1160, the company ranks among the oldest brewing sites in Bavaria. Beer is brewed according to the Bavarian Purity Law using Hallertau hops, Bavarian malts, select yeast cultures and own well water drawn from a depth of 106 metres. The range includes bottom-fermenting beers such as Urhell, Dunkel and Jägerbier, wheat beers of the Huber Weisses brand, pilsners and non-alcoholic varieties. The beers are certified as Slow Brewed and undergo slow maturation at low temperatures. The production site is the brewery building erected in 1912 on Mainburger Straße, built to a design by brewing scientist Theodor Ganzenmüller. Since November 2025, the brewery has belonged to the Swiss Argon Management AG.
