About Graforce
Graforce GmbH develops and manufactures modular, plasma-supported pyrolysis reactors – known as Plasmalyzer® – for the production of CO2-free or CO2-negative hydrogen and synthetic raw materials. The systems split energy-rich chemical compounds in natural gas, biomethane, flare gas, ammonia, liquid manure, industrial wastewater or plastic waste (PE, PP, PA) using plasma processes such as high-frequency discharge, dielectric barrier discharge and coronal low-frequency discharge into hydrogen and valuable solid carbon or other industrial gases. The portfolio comprises methane and wastewater Plasmalyzer®, ammonia Plasmacrackers, systems for gas separation, compression and refuelling, synthesis as well as Power2Gas and Power2Liquid concepts including Fischer-Tropsch synthesis. Graforce also offers CO2-free electricity and heat generation with H2 combined heat and power units or SOFC fuel cells, water treatment, business case development and consulting. The company was founded in 2012 by Dr. Jens Hanke, is based in Berlin-Adlershof and works for industries such as energy, buildings, chemicals, steel, mobility and recycling. For customer-specific scaling of systems in the multi-megawatt range, Graforce cooperates with engineering and design companies; expansion to up to 50 MW/a of methane plasmalysis is planned with customers and partners.

Feedstocks and Processes
Natural gas (methane)
Feedstock for methane plasmalysis producing turquoise hydrogen and solid carbon (10 kWh/kg H2).
Biomethane / biogas
Enables a CO2-negative hydrogen balance with permanent carbon sequestration.
Ammonia
Cracked via DBD plasmalysis with heterogeneous catalysis into green hydrogen and nitrogen.
Wastewater / liquid manure
Ammonium-containing residual materials are processed via plasma electrolysis into hydrogen (20 kWh/kg H2) and clean water.
Plastic waste
Separated and shredded plastics are split into hydrogen and carbon using nitrogen as carrier gas.
Flare gas
Can be used as a feedstock for CO2-free methane plasmalysis.
Nitrogen (carrier gas)
Serves as a carrier gas in plastic plasmalysis for splitting higher-molecular hydrocarbons.
