About Grassl Glass
Grassl Glass AG, based in Altendorf, Switzerland, traditionally manufactures mouth-blown wine glasses, decanters and accessories with Swiss design. The glasses are made from lead-free glass: an oxygen-fuel furnace melts glass sand, soda, dolomite, potassium, potassium oxide and cullet into a melt of around 1700 °C. In hot shaping, five craftsmen work on a single stemmed glass; consistent production of the collection requires around twenty years of glassblowing experience. After shaping follows slow cooling with five further steps for finishing. The range includes the Vigneron Series (Minéralité, Liberté, Cru, 1855, Decanter) as well as the Elemental Series (Champagne, Water, Carafe, Versatile) and accessories such as a travel toiletry bag, polishing cloths, stoppers and a spittoon. Distribution takes place via an official distributor network in Europe, America, Asia, Australia and Africa.
