Energy transition service provider as a 100% subsidiary of Green Planet Energy eG

Green Planet Projects GmbH (until September 2021 Planet Energy) is a 100% subsidiary of Green Planet Energy eG, an eco-energy cooperative founded by Greenpeace in 1999 and headquartered in Hamburg. The company develops, builds and operates clean power plants with a focus on wind energy and photovoltaics; in addition, its engineers plan hydropower plants, electrolysers for converting surplus wind power into hydrogen, as well as district heating and biogas projects with biomethane upgrading. The value chain covers the entire process from GIS-based site acquisition through development, permitting (BImSchG) and financing to power plant construction and commercial as well as technical operations management. With more than 20 years of experience, the company has built 16 wind farms, three photovoltaic systems and two electrolysers; the power plant portfolio comprises around 130 MW of total capacity with investments of over 188 million euros. A particular focus lies on cooperation with citizen energy cooperatives as well as financing through public profit-participating certificates (Genussrechte) as investment assets.
