About GREENBOATS
GREENBOATS is a company founded in Bremen in 2013, active in boat and composite construction, that builds sailing and motor boats as well as structural components primarily from natural-fibre composite materials. It is based on the combination of traditional craftsmanship in boatbuilding and fibre-composite engineering: fibres are oriented according to load cases, and parts are built up using the infusion process with resin and sandwich cores. The company develops its own boat lines such as the GreenBENTE24 keelboat, the 27-foot daysailer FLAX27 (designed with Judel/Vrolijk & Co.) and the 30-foot yacht MB9 "Keena", but it also manufactures components for customers – in 2022, 49 GREENBOATS parts were on board the IMOCA Malizia-Seaexplorer of Team Malizia. Continuous research and development work on fibres, resins, sandwich structures, manufacturing processes, durability and circular design is carried out through the sister activity Circular Structures. With R.U.D.I., GREENBOATS has been developing a scalable, panel-based modular platform for repeatable series production since 2024. In addition to the marine sector, the company conducts cross-industry material development and manufactures for cross-sector industries.

Materials & Processes
Natural-fibre composite material (flax)
Load-case-oriented fibre basis as a substitute for conventional glass-fibre composites in hull and structural parts.
Resin / synthetic resin
Matrix resin for the infusion and build-up of the natural-fibre laminates.
Sandwich composite material
Sandwich build-ups for stiffness and low weight in hulls and panels.
Wood
Natural material from the boatbuilding tradition, combined with composite construction technology.
