From Idea to Innovation
GreenFoilNature GmbH develops and supplies sustainable material solutions based on algae as an alternative to fossil plastics and coatings. The product platform includes water-based barrier coatings for paper and fiber packaging (F28), algae-based Pulp Additives (F23), which are directly integrated into the fiber structure of paper, cardboard, straw, hemp, or other plant fibers, heat sealing systems, as well as compounds and masterbatches with controllable degradation and active substance release behavior. The materials are 100% bio-based, plastic- and microplastic-free, biodegradable, and certified recyclable in the paper cycle. The products are optimized for standard packaging lines and replace critical chemicals such as PFAS. The GmbH, based in Schwerte-Wandhofen (Amtsgericht Hagen, HRB 12922), serves the industries of Packaging & Paper, Agriculture, Consumer Goods, and Industrial Applications, and supports industrial partners in meeting regulatory requirements such as recyclability and plastic reduction.

Materials and Processes
Algae-based Barrier Coating
Water-based coating made from natural, non-modified raw materials that protects paper and fiber packaging against water, fat, water vapor, oxygen, or mineral oils as a plastic-free barrier.
Algae-based Pulp Additive
Water-soluble fiber additive that is integrated into the fiber structure of paper, cardboard, straw, hemp, or plant fibers, improving barrier and strength, PFAS-free.
Heat Sealing System
Bio-based sealing system for stable heat seals on paper and fiber packaging, compatible with barriers against fat, oil, and oxygen.
Compounds & Masterbatches
Algae-based compounds and masterbatches as an alternative to fossil raw materials with targeted control of degradation and active substance release.
Paper, Cardboard, Straw, Hemp, Plant Fibers
Fiber-based substrates onto or into which the coatings and pulp additives are integrated.
