About Greiner Zeroplast
Greiner Zeroplast develops and produces bio-based, injection-mouldable materials as an alternative to conventional plastics. The company was founded in 2017 as Zeroplast in Austria and was acquired and renamed in 2023 by Greiner Innoventures, the innovation arm of Greiner AG. The material consists essentially of wax, natural fibres and minerals (limestone) and is free of plastic polymers, microplastics, GMOs and synthetic additives; it is recyclable, biodegradable and can be processed on conventional injection moulding machines. Target markets are primarily rigid packaging such as containers, lids, closures and dispensers, especially in the cosmetics and consumer goods industries. Greiner Zeroplast adapts mechanical properties, processing parameters and appearance (colour, surface, in-mould labelling compatibility) to customer requirements and supports partners from the pilot phase to series production readiness. The site is located in Spillern, Austria.
