About the Swabian Mattress Manufactory Groll
Groll GmbH & Co. KG is a family business founded in 1949, now in its third generation of the Schwenk family, based in Reutlingen-Sondelfingen at the foot of the Swabian Alb. Under the Grosana brand, the company develops and manufactures sleep systems in its own production: cold foam and pocket spring mattresses, slatted frames and neck support pillows. Manufacturing combines automation and manual work on a machine fleet developed in-house. The company's own foam center also produces foam offcuts and custom-cut pieces, including special cuts for mobile sleeping accommodation such as motorhomes and vehicles (brand gromobil). Cold foam and pocket springs are used as materials; the company primarily works with regionally based suppliers in order to control material quality and avoid contamination with harmful substances. In addition to its own production, Groll operates a bed retail store at the production site, offering expert advice, home consultations, delivery and assembly, as well as a drop-off point for cleaning. Customers are end consumers from the region as well as trade partners of the Grosana wholesale business.
