About Groupe Minoteries SA

Groupe Minoteries SA (GMSA) is a Swiss public limited company in the milling industry that processes grain into flour and animal feed. The value chain covers grain intake and cleaning, processing in its own mills, as well as packaging and logistics with its own truck fleet. More than 80 % of bread grain comes from Switzerland, less than 100 km from the two main sites; around three quarters of the raw materials come from organic farming or extensive agriculture. The specialised Steiner mill is the only purely organic mill in Switzerland and processes exclusively biodynamic and organic products. The buyers of the grain products are bakers and gastronomy, industry, and retail and wholesale. Almost all grain kernels (99 %) are processed into flour or animal feed; the waste generated during cleaning is predominantly used in biogas plants.
