About GROWI Maschinenbau

GROWI Maschinenbau GmbH & Co. KG develops and manufactures machines for firewood and agricultural technology in Oberthingau (Unterthingau) in the Allgäu region. The product range includes horizontal and vertical log splitters for short and meter-long logs, excavator-mounted splitters, saw-splitting automat lines, high-performance saws, wood handling equipment such as conveyor belts, disc and drum cleaners, bundling machines, logging grapples and sorting systems, as well as PTO-driven, tower and electric mixers for slurry pits. In addition, hydraulic cylinders are manufactured. Design of the company's own machines is done in-house; for production, two Hurco machining centres, one CNC lathe, two welding robots and two double mitre saws are available in the company's own sawmill. In addition to final assembly of the machines, the company also performs contract manufacturing in CNC machining, sawing and automated welding of steel structures. Customers include agriculture and forestry, firewood and fireplace wood producers, as well as forestry and contractor businesses. Distribution partners exist in Switzerland, Ireland and England; catalogues are published in German, English, French and Dutch. Electricity demand is self-generated via several PV systems, and heating of the Kraftisried site is provided by a natural gas-fired combined heat and power unit.
