About Grünbacher Schlossbrauerei
The Grünbacher Schlossbrauerei operates a brewpub with beer garden at Grünbach Castle in the municipality of Bockhorn (district of Erding, Bavaria), as well as the distribution of Grünbacher Weißbier. The Hofmark (estate) of Grünbach was first mentioned in 1571; brewing at the site has been documented since the 18th century. From 1787, brewing expert Benno Scharl worked at the castle for around 25 years. In 2015, the brewpub with Grünbacher Weißbier was taken over by Arcobräu. In 2023, production at the Grünbach site was discontinued; the Grünbacher Weißbier brand remained with Arcobräu and production was taken over by the Schlossbrauerei Irlbach. Today, the historic site continues to operate a brewery taproom with gastronomy.
