About GSW Schwabe
GSW Schwabe AG is a machine builder specializing in coil processing, headquartered in Kempen. The company develops and manufactures precision levelers, fine-leveling machines, feed-and-level machines, uncoilers, roll feeds, cutting shears, coil turning tables, coil joining stations, and scrap conveyors, and deploys these components in complete systems: slitting lines, cut-to-length lines, recoiling lines, and coil feed lines. The slitting lines process strip widths up to 2100 mm, material thicknesses from 0.15 to 6.0 mm, and coil weights up to 20,000 kg in steel, stainless steel, aluminum, copper, and other non-ferrous metals. Engineering, design, machining, assembly, commissioning, and service are all carried out in-house at the Kempen site, where a new production hall with a loop pit for testing large lines was built in 2020. GSW supplies industries such as white goods, building services and ventilation, the beverage industry, engine technology, steel service, and the cable industry, and operates worldwide as a system integrator.

Processes and Materials
Steel (also galvanized, painted, thick-gauge)
Processed in levelers, feed-and-level lines, and cutting lines, including higher-strength grades.
Stainless steel
Processed in slitting and coil feed lines; parts conveyors also made of stainless steel.
Aluminum
Processed in slitting lines and coil feed lines; aluminum profiles in the PSKS parts conveyor system.
Copper and non-ferrous metals
Processed in slitting lines for the cable and non-ferrous metals industry.
Precision leveling (Alligator principle)
Removes coil curvature and distributes strip stresses; strip widths up to 2 m.
Fine leveling (6-high design)
Compensates residual stresses; smallest roll diameters from 24 mm for precise results.
Slitting
Slitting of coil into strips with cutting speeds up to approx. 250 m/min.
Cut-to-length
Cutting coils into sheets with cutting shears and fully automatic stacking handling.
Coil feeding
Combination of uncoiler, straightening machine, and roll feed for feeding downstream machines; conventional, compact, or heavy-duty.
