Tools for metal machining
Gühring KG is a manufacturer of rotary precision tools for metal machining with around 8,000 employees worldwide. The product portfolio includes twist drills, carbide drills, deep-hole drills, micro drills, carbide (VHM) milling cutters, thread milling cutters as well as modular tool systems and clamping devices such as hydraulic expansion chucks and HPC high-force clamping chucks. Tools are manufactured in solid carbide (VHM), with PCD cutting edges (polycrystalline diamond) and in HSS, with special tools designed for customer-specific applications. The tools are used in the automotive industry, aerospace, mould making, mechanical and plant engineering, and in the machining of fibre-reinforced composites (GRP, CFRP, MMC, CMC). The manufacturing portfolio is complemented by services such as tool reconditioning, carbide recycling (Gühring Tool Circle), the GTMS tool management software, the training programme of the Gühring Academy and a CAD portal with online shop. The sales company Gühring (Schweiz) AG supplies the Swiss market from Rotkreuz; the place of performance is Zug. In 2022, as a consequence of the war in Ukraine, the company terminated all business relations and completely withdrew from the Russian market.

Quality assurance
Gühring manufactures high-precision cutting tools down to the micro range; the GTMS tool management software supports customers with measuring instrument management including calibration, inspection deadline monitoring and audit documentation in accordance with ISO 9001, IATF 16949 and QSF-A 1998. In-house production is carried out with polished flutes, exact run-out accuracies (up to 3 µm on collet holders) and optimised coatings for long tool life.
