About Gühring
Gühring KG, headquartered in Albstadt-Ebingen, is a manufacturer of rotating cutting tools for metalworking. The product range comprises precision tools for drilling, milling, reaming and countersinking as well as for thread production, complemented by parting and turning tools and clamping devices, with a total of more than 90,000 items. In addition to the standard range, more than 500 customer-specific OEM projects are engineered every year. The company bundles all manufacturing competencies under one roof: from its own machine building and in-house carbide production to its own coating development. The portfolio is rounded out by services such as tool reconditioning in more than 50 service centers worldwide, retooling and tool management. The tools are used mainly in the automotive industry, aerospace and mechanical engineering.

Materials and Processes
Carbide
In-house carbide production as the substrate for high-performance tools.
Solid carbide
Base material for drills and end mills such as RT 100 XF or RF 100.
TiN coating
In 1981, Gühring developed the first TiN-coated twist drill; coatings increase tool life and reduce manufacturing costs.
PCD (polycrystalline diamond)
Used in milling cutters for abrasive materials such as aluminium to achieve maximum tool life.
Steel
Machining target of the tools, e.g. blind-hole thread tapping with the SteelPro tap.
Stainless steels
Target material for tools such as the parting system 208 or the solid carbide drill RT 100 InoxPro.
Titanium alloys
Target material for high-performance tools such as the RT 100 InoxPro.
Aluminium
Machining target, e.g. with PCD tools from Dörr for maximum tool life.
