About Gugelfuss
Gugelfuss GmbH is a family-run company headquartered in Elchingen (Bavaria) that has been manufacturing windows and doors since 1971 and can look back on a company history dating back to 1891. The product range includes windows made of plastic (PVC), aluminium, wood and wood-aluminium combinations as well as entrance doors made of aluminium, plastic and wood, complemented by project solutions such as large-format aluminium facades, fire protection, smoke protection and escape doors as well as folding doors. Production takes place exclusively in Germany at the sites in Elchingen (PVC, approx. 6,500 sqm of production space), Strass (the only site for aluminium elements, 2,600 sqm) and Beerwalde (PVC, 3,200 sqm); since 2021 also in Illertissen following the takeover of the plastic window and door business of the Illerplastic Group. Around 260 employees develop, test and produce the systems, including hardware technology and special glazing. The value chain includes consulting, installation, service and maintenance on site; PVC building elements are recycled through the Rewindo initiative. The company has been active in Switzerland since 1985 and supplies specialist retailers, architects, building owners and commercial projects.

Company History
- 1891
Johann Gugelfuss registers his cooperage business in Oberelchingen as a trade on 01.02.1891; production of cider and wine barrels until after the Second World War.
- 1946
Grandson Anton Gugelfuss takes over the business; expansion of the cooperage, construction of new cider press house and distillery, opening of a wine trade in 1952.
- 1971
Martin Gugelfuss sen. takes over the company and, together with his wife Renate, founds the business division for manufacturing and installation of plastic windows.
- 1982
Takeover of the Wenger carpentry workshop, start of wooden entrance door production; founding of Gugelfuss-Kunststoff-Fenster GmbH at the beginning of the 80s.
- 1984
Wine trade, cider press house and distillery are transferred to Martin Gugelfuss's sister in order to concentrate on the window industry.
- 1985
Anton Gugelfuss joins as shareholder and managing director; start of activities in Switzerland with projects in the Zurich area.

Takeover of the Holzwerk Sander in Strass with all employees; relocation of wooden window production.
