About GuS
GuS (Glas und Sicherheit / Glass and Safety) is a family-owned company founded in 1977, headquartered in Lübbecke, North Rhine-Westphalia. Around 200 employees develop and produce angle mirrors, periscopes, armoured glass and protective modules for vehicle construction on a production area of 15,000 m². The product range comprises over 400 periscope variants with housings made of glass, acrylic (PMMA), metal and plastics, as well as laminated safety glass and armoured glass according to TL 2350-006 and TL 6650 of the German Armed Forces and US MIL standards. Production ranges from flat glass processing through CNC machining, bonding and laminating processes to painting, sandblasting and assembly; series production is carried out from small quantities up to series volumes. Products are delivered to more than 40 countries and used by more than 40 armies, including armoured glass for German Armed Forces protected vehicles. An in-house research and development department works with CATIA 3D design, new bonding techniques and materials such as transparent ceramics and sapphire glass; an in-house environmental and qualification test centre enables ballistic, environmental and optical testing. In addition to new products, GuS offers armoured glass repair, damage assessment and customer training.

Quality and Certification
GuS manufactures safety-critical components as a manufacturer according to DIN EN ISO 9001 and NATO AQAP 2110 as well as country-specific standards such as MIL and VPAM. Every production unit is subjected to ballistic testing; in addition, optical inspections (transmission 460–1064 nm, distortion, delamination), environmental tests from -60 °C to +160 °C and external validations by TÜV NORD and government authorities are carried out.
