About us
Gustav Rürup & Söhne Zahnradfabrik GmbH was founded in 1972 by the brothers Joachim and Norbert Gustav Rürup and manufactures toothed drive elements for mechanical engineering. The product range includes chain sprockets (simplex-duplex-triplex, taper sprockets with bushes), bevel gears (module 1 to 5), spur gears (module 1 to 12, with and without hub), gear racks, timing belt pulleys, chain tensioner sprockets, chain couplings, stainless steel sprockets and double wheels. Production is carried out to standard or to customer drawing; the range of services also includes finishing by hardening and surface treatment as well as trading from an own warehouse of around 200,000 standard parts (approx. 800 tonnes of material) for just-in-time deliveries. Materials include steel C 45, aluminium, grey cast iron and stainless steel. The company, with 11 to 50 employees, is based in Schenefeld near Hamburg and is run as a family business in its second generation.
