About GWU-Lasertechnik
GWU-Lasertechnik was founded in 1988 in Erftstadt as a sales and service organisation for lasers and laser components and has specialised in nonlinear optics and frequency conversion for over 30 years. In 1989, the company introduced the first commercial BBO OPO (OPO-A) at Laser – World of Photonics in Munich and has continuously developed the OPO product line ever since; it is now available in its fifth generation (primoScan). The portfolio comprises broadly tunable laser systems from UV to infrared wavelengths, harmonic generators for pico- and femtosecond lasers (FHG/UHG series), integrated OEM YAG-OPO systems as well as nonlinear optical crystals (BBO, LBO, KTP, PPLN), laser optics and CCD-based module spectrometers. In addition to its own manufacturing, GWU acts as a distributor and technical consultant for core components with partners such as Castech, HC Photonics, Xiton Photonics and NP Photonics. Customers come from industry and scientific research worldwide; the OPOs are distributed globally via Lumibird. Production and research & development have been located in Kaiserslautern since 2009, in the environment of Photonik-Zentrum Kaiserslautern e.V., with the headquarters in Erftstadt.
