About GXC Coatings
GXC Coatings GmbH was founded in 2000 in Goslar and specialises in the development and manufacture of functional coatings based on chemical nanotechnology. The company coats transparent plastic and glass components on an industrial scale and offers corresponding coating services. Its own coating developments include anti-fogging functions, scratch-resistant additional functions (easy to clean), anti-reflective coatings and electrically heatable transparent layers. According to the company, around 10–15 % of total expenditure is invested in research and development each year. Customers include major automotive suppliers and industrial customers; other market segments are sensor technology and medical technology. In 2020, the largest investment programme in ten years began at the Goslar-Oker site, with capacity expansions in paint production and coating as well as the construction of an application centre. Since 01.02.2022, insolvency proceedings have been running under insolvency administrator Peter Steuerwald; business operations have been continued and an M&A process to restructure the site has been initiated.
