About the Künne Steel Wire Mill

H. Künne GmbH & Co. KG is a steel wire mill based in Hemer, in the South Westphalian wire-drawing centre of Hemer-Altena. The company produces high-carbon steel wires with diameters of 0.2 to 10.0 mm as well as low-carbon steel wires from 1.5 to 13.2 mm. The product portfolio includes rope wire to EN 10264-2 and DIN 2078, spring steel wire to DIN EN 10270-1 and DIN 17223/1, as well as cold-heading wire, iron wire in round and profile sections, chain grades and special steel wire to customer specifications. Production encompasses wire drawing, heat treatment before, after or between cold forming operations, and surface finishing such as copper plating. Customer industries include, among others, the wire rope, spring, chain and architectural trades, cold-heading technology, the screening and steel grit industries, and fibre-optic cable manufacturing. The plant is part of the KÜNNE Group, which consists mainly of companies producing quality wire.
