About Habasit
Habasit was founded in 1946 in Basel, Switzerland, and invented the first synthetic power transmission belts. The company manufactures a broad portfolio of belting products: general-purpose conveyor belts, machine belts, spindle tapes, power transmission belts, folder-gluer belts, plastic modular belts, monolithic belts, plastic chains, round belts, V-belts and timing belts, seamless belts, as well as conveying components and an intelligent belt system. Machine belts are developed from Hamid, polyamide and polyurethane with abrasion-resistant NBR coatings or application-specific surface materials. Habasit weaves its own fabrics and develops its own machines and fabrication tools in order to control product quality across all manufacturing steps. In addition, the company offers joining techniques (Flexproof, Quickmelt, Thermofix), on-site service, maintenance, installation, consulting and emergency service. With sales offices, service centers and distribution partners in over 70 countries, Habasit serves industries such as food and packaging, intralogistics, airports, paper and board, printing, wood, automotive and tire industry, recycling, as well as textile and yarn processing.

Materials and Joining Technology
Hamid (polyamide tension layer/coating)
High-performance material with high mechanical strength, dimensional stability and long service life, also in humid environments.
Polyamide
Tension layer material for machine belts with high flexibility and resistance to bending fatigue.
Polyurethane
Material for machine belts with application-specific surfaces.
NBR coating
Abrasion-resistant coating for a gentle, application-specific belt surface.
Flexproof joining technology
Adhesive-free belt joint for thermoplastic belts with a punched joint geometry.
Quickmelt joining technology
Adhesive-free hot-pressing process for machine belts and monolithic belts.
Thermofix joining technology
Three-step process (skiving, adhesive application, hot pressing) for non-thermoplastic belts and power transmission belts.
