Stove ceramics from the Mügeln manufactory
HAFNERTEC produces fine stove ceramics and stove tiles for tiled stove construction. Since 1894, the tiles have been made by hand at the company's own manufactory in Mügeln, Saxony, from natural materials such as clay, kaolin and quartz sand. The tiles contain a particularly high proportion of heat-storing fireclay, which increases the heat storage capacity and efficiency of tiled stoves. In a elaborate process, the stove tiles are glazed by hand up to four times; stove builders can choose the appropriate surface from over 70 glaze variants. The design archive comprises original shapes and designs from around 120 years, from which classic and modern tile series such as Pietra, DaVinci, Infinita and Rilino are developed. In addition to manufacturing, Hafnertec offers design development and consulting for tiled stove and stove builders.
