Hagener Feinstahl Bender GmbH is the headquarters of the BenderWire Group, a manufacturer of stainless steel wire that has been in existence since 1815. The company produces wires, strands and ropes with diameters from 0.011 mm to 15 mm and covers the entire value chain across five locations in Germany and the USA: from semi-finished drawing wire at Hagener Feinstahl, through fine wire down to 11 µm at the Fine Wire Plant division, to ropes and strands at Sassenscheidt. The US brands Tri Star Metals and Siri Wire supply stainless steel specialty and precision wire. A warehouse of around 2,500 t of stainless steel wire enables deliveries within three weeks; sourcing is independent of individual steel mills. Customers come from construction, the automotive industry and medical technology, as well as from applications such as violin strings, catheters, drinking water filters and solar panels. The company also offers material development and joint product development with customers.
