About HAHN Kunststoffe GmbH
HAHN Kunststoffe GmbH was founded in 1993 on the former Hahn military airfield and specialises in material recycling of post-consumer mixed plastics and films. The company processes around 90,000 tonnes of recycling material annually and produces approximately 65,000 tonnes of the material hanit, a recycled plastic made from 100 % waste plastic from the dual systems. From this material, over 2,000 products and variants are created via extrusion, injection moulding and mechanical machining: construction materials such as boards, beams and sheets, garden and landscaping elements, technical products such as cable ducts, grating floors and segment lining support blocks, demarcation systems, outdoor furniture and flooring. In addition to the standard range, HAHN develops customer-specific special products and performs contract processing of plastic waste. All process steps from raw material selection through recycling to finished-part production take place at the Hahn-Flughafen site; as part of the international HAHN Group with subsidiaries in, among others, England, France, Canada, Italy, Spain and the USA, the company distributes its products worldwide.

hanit material and processes
hanit recycled plastic
Material made from 100 % post-consumer mixed plastic, weather-resistant, maintenance-free, chemical-resistant and fully recyclable.
Extrusion
Production of profiles such as boards, beams, square profiles, sheets and planks from hanit pellets.
Injection moulding
Processing of melted hanit pellets into finished parts in moulds, with dimensional variations of up to ±3 % on delivery.
Machining
Sawing, milling, drilling, planing and deburring of hanit profiles and sheets.
Steel reinforcement
Internal steel reinforcement in posts and planks for increased load stability.
Colour granulate (RAL blend)
Colouring of the recycled plastic in various RAL shades such as 7005, 7016, 6005 or 8017.

Quality and certificates
Quality is assured across the entire value chain from raw material selection to finishing; a large share of the products has carried the Blue Angel eco-label since 2005, and children's furniture has been tested for harmful substances according to DIN EN 71-3. Product defects can be reported via a _gpsR form.
