About Halloren
Halloren Schokoladenfabrik AG produces and markets chocolate and confectionery from its headquarters in Halle (Saale). Founded in 1804, the company is Germany's oldest chocolate factory still producing today and is best known for the Original Halloren Kugel, whose shape is inspired by the silver buttons of the Halle salt-makers' brotherhood. At the main plant on Delitzscher Straße, a 146-meter-long connected production line produces around 5,500 kg or 530,000 Kugeln per shift, corresponding to a daily output of approximately 1.6 million Kugeln; all Halloren Kugel varieties are produced exclusively in Halle. The product range also includes Halloren O's, pralines (Pralineum), chocolate bars, drinking chocolate, fruit caramels (Frukas) as well as individual custom chocolate creations. The cocoa comes mainly from Côte d'Ivoire and Ghana; a vegan variant has been available since 2017. Distribution takes place via the online shop, factory outlets, chocolate worlds, and exports to over 50 countries. Around 250 employees work at the Halle site; in addition, there is an adventure world, a chocolate museum with glass-walled production demonstrations, and shops in Halle, Dresden and Leipzig.
