Hamer Soundsystems GmbH & Co. KG (formerly Steffens & Hamer) has been active since 1971 as a manufacturer and specialized/grocery wholesaler in the field of professional sound reinforcement technology. Since 1975, the company has been manufacturing its own loudspeakers of the SH series – predominantly Made in Germany – with an annual production of well over 25,000 units, including ceiling, wall and surface-mounted, pendant loudspeakers, sound projectors, compression driver loudspeakers as well as customer-specific types; special paint finishes in RAL or NCS are possible. The portfolio also includes amplifiers and central units. Together with its sister company AVK GmbH – Technische Geräte und Anlagenbau (founded 1999/2000, certified to DIN 14675 since 2013), voice alarm systems (VAS per DIN VDE 0833-4) and emergency warning systems (EWS per DIN VDE 0828) are planned, designed, installed, commissioned, accepted and maintained – from small systems to networked, building-spanning central units. Central loudspeaker models have been certified per EN 54-24 by VdS since April 2011. Products are distributed in Germany, Austria and Switzerland; customers come from retail, hotels, clinics, schools, sports and event venues, museums, transport operators and passenger shipping. More than 1,690 completed projects attest to the project record (as of spring 2026).
