About Hanfland

Hanfland GmbH is an Austrian company from Hanfthal in Lower Austria that cultivates, processes and markets organic hemp products. Founder Günther Schmid has been growing hemp since 2004, under organic farming since 2016; the Hanfland brand has existed since 2012. The product range includes organic hemp seeds (hulled, roasted, unhulled), hemp protein, cold-pressed hemp oil, psyllium seeds, germinated seeds as well as feed hemp and hemp hurd for animals, stables and gardens. Cultivation takes place in Hanfthal and with contract partners in Lower Austria; if the own harvest is insufficient, it is supplemented with organic hemp from the EU. Processing, storage and distribution take place at the site in Laa an der Thaya, complemented by an own shop. Nutrition scientist Gerda Steinfellner is responsible for product development and quality. Customers are end consumers in Austria and Germany as well as B2B partners in the food, animal feed and personal care sectors.
