About us
Hanke GmbH is a joinery business in Mainz, run as a master craft business in its third generation since 1919. In its own workshops, wooden windows, doors, custom furniture and high-quality interior fittings are manufactured. A particular focus is heritage conservation: historic building elements such as windows, doors, decorative mouldings, capitals and profiles are reproduced or restored based on historic models, with the dimensions and profiles of the original components being replicated. The range of services also includes surface treatment of wooden parts, glazing and installation of the building elements from a single source. For special cases such as narrow window openings in half-timbered houses, a special window system with slim frames was developed that allows the use of functional insulating glass; sash-in-sash constructions are also produced. During restorations, historically valuable parts such as hand-forged nails, decorative grilles and carved profiles are retained wherever possible and reconditioned.
