Hankook Tire & Technology is a tire manufacturer founded in 1941 and headquartered in Seongnam (Pangyo), South Korea. The company produces approximately 100 million tires annually at eight production sites in Korea (Daejeon, Geumsan), China (Jiaxing, Jiangsu, Chongqing), Hungary (Rácalmás), Indonesia (Cikarang) and the USA (Tennessee). The product portfolio includes summer, all-season, winter and electric-vehicle tires for passenger cars, SUVs, vans, trucks, buses, trailers and motorsport under the brands Hankook (including iON, Ventus, Dynapro, Kinergy, Winter i*cept, Smart), Laufenn and Optimo. As an OE supplier, Hankook Tire supplies more than 50 automotive manufacturers with around 300 vehicle models and exports to approximately 160 countries worldwide, with over 80% of group revenue generated abroad. Manufacturing is based on rubber compounds made from natural and synthetic rubber; technological processes include 3D-printed tread molds (Hidden Groove) and the Alphatread retread solution. Research and development takes place at five technology centers in Daejeon (Technodome), Hanover, Akron, Jiaxing and Osaka as well as at the company's own proving ground, Hankook Technoring. In Germany, the company is represented by Hankook Reifen Deutschland GmbH in Neu-Isenburg. Around 20,000 employees work worldwide.
