About Hanowa
Hanowa AG is a Swiss watch company based in Möhlin that designs and produces wristwatches, in particular ladies' and men's watches. The company name is an acronym for HAns NOll WAtches and goes back to founder Hans Noll, who established the company in Biel in 1963 together with his wife Elisabeth Wirz – two years after he had taken over as head of sales at a watch factory. In 1990, a second brand, Swiss Military–Hanowa, was established and has since been based in Möhlin. Since 2015, Hanowa has been an official licensee of the Swiss Confederation for use of the 'Swiss Military' brand name. The watches bear a Swiss cross within an octagon as their signet and are sold in more than 60 countries. The range comprises ladies' and men's collections with models such as MALOJA, CONTHEY, FAHY, MURI, ORAN and BISTER.
