About the gravel plant
Hans Hebel Kieswerk Darast GmbH & Co. KG operates a gravel plant in Wolfertschwenden/Darast and has supplied the regional construction industry for around 55 years. Low-terrace gravel composed of carbonate, dolomite, quartz and sandstone is extracted, its origin tracing back to glacial processes from the pre-Alpine region. The raw material is extracted with wheel loaders and fed to the plant via a conveyor line, where it is washed and screened into grain sizes from 0–1 mm to 0–56 mm according to the classifications of the delivery list. Daily production is 3,000 to 4,000 tonnes. The product range includes natural sand and gravel to DIN EN 12620, premium crushed sand and premium chippings to DIN EN 13043, as well as concrete gravel, screed sand, frost-protection gravel, subbase gravel, cable sand, drip-layer material and hydraulic engineering stones. Products go to road construction, structural construction, landscaping and private construction projects and are delivered to the point of use with transport vehicles. The site is located directly on the A7 Ulm–Kempten motorway.
