hans meier ag is a Swiss drive technology company founded in 1975 by Hans Meier and headquartered in Grüningen ZH. Acting as an intermediary between gearbox manufacturers and users, the company develops, sells and maintains customised drive solutions, in particular planetary gearboxes from 200 Nm to 2'170'000 Nm (maximum permissible output torque 5'400'000 Nm). The portfolio includes flange-mounted, shaft-mounted, foot-mounted, high-torque, rotary table, rope winch, agitator and pump gearboxes, extruder and injection moulding machine gearboxes, travel drives, axles, hydraulic power units, couplings and variators, mainly from Dana-Brevini. The company maintains a large spare parts warehouse for Dana-Brevini gearboxes. The range of services is complemented by consulting, engineering, commissioning, overhauls and gearbox repairs of all manufacturers, including third-party makes, in its own workshop and on site. Fields of application include, among others, ropeways, steel manufacturing, building materials, biogas digester plants, mechanical engineering, tunnel construction and amusement park technology; deliveries were made, among others, to Turkey, the Czech Republic and South Korea. Since 1 March 2021, a five-person team of long-standing employees has been running the company as part of a management buy-out.
