Family business with its own furniture manufactory
Segmüller is a family business founded in 1925 by Hans Segmüller in Friedberg near Augsburg and ranks among Germany's top 10 furniture retailers. In the Segmüller workshops in Friedberg, upholstered furniture (sofas, armchairs, chairs, corner benches), beds and dining groups are manufactured in full in-house production. The value chain covers frame manufacturing in solid wood or dowel-glued beech wood and wood-based materials, an own foam plant for PU molded foam including own mold making, sewing and upholstery as well as own product designers and developers. Materials used include solid wood, solid beech and oak, leather from German or European tanneries, cover fabrics from first-class weaving mills, Diolen wadding and steel tube or stainless steel for foot variants. Over 200 highly qualified specialists (seamstresses, upholsterers, carpenters) work in the workshops, the products carry the 'Golden M' of the DGM and are 'Made in Germany'. In total, the company employs around 4,000 staff in seven furniture stores, five logistics centers, its own upholstered furniture production and the online shop (since 2013).
