Our Brewery
The Hanseatische Brauerei Rostock GmbH was founded on 28 March 1878 by the engineers Georg Mahn and Friedrich Ohlerich as Brauerei Mahn & Ohlerich (M&O) and produces beer at its site on Doberaner Straße in the heart of Rostock. The brewery produces beer in accordance with the Reinheitsgebot (German Beer Purity Law) from water, malt, yeast and hops, as well as non-alcoholic beverages; the product range includes, among others, Pils and Bock beer, and since 2011 the historic mildly hopped M&O Pils has been brewed again. The raw materials hops and malt are carefully selected; from 1880 the company operated its own malthouse. The brewery belongs to the Radeberger Group within the Oetker Group and distributes its products, among other channels, through its own online shop. The company is closely connected to its home city and is engaged, among other things, as a premium partner of the Warnemünder Woche and as main sponsor of the Hanse Sail.
