About H&R

The H&R Group (Hansen & Rosenthal) was founded in 1919 in Hamburg and develops and produces petroleum-based chemical-pharmaceutical specialty products. From crude oil derivatives, more than 800 products such as white oils, petrolatums, paraffin waxes, plasticizers, base oils, process oils, cable filling compounds and wax emulsions are manufactured through distillation, extraction, deparaffinization and hydrogenation as well as formulation and filling processes, and are used in more than 100 customer industries. In addition, the group includes a smaller business unit for precision plastic parts and mould making, headquartered in Coburg, serving automotive suppliers and medical technology. Core production takes place in the refineries in Hamburg-Neuhof (H&R Ölwerke Schindler) and Salzbergen as well as at production sites in Europe and overseas; in addition, toll manufacturing, blending and filling of over 2,000 articles and an accredited testing laboratory are offered. The administrative headquarters has been located in Hamburg's HafenCity since 2005.

Quality & Certification

Production follows a zero-defect approach within an Integrated Management System; an accredited testing laboratory (ISO/IEC 17025) performs chemical-physical tests. Upon customer request, VDA Volume 2, PPF, initial sample test report and PPAP (IATF 16949) are used for process and product release.
