About us

Hartmut Zell – Forstmaschinenservice is a sole proprietorship founded in 1998 and based in Sinntal (Hesse) that offers mechanized timber harvesting and forestry services. The service portfolio includes the processing of forest stands into long- and shortwood assortments (DBH 10–50 cm), short- and longwood extraction with forwarder and cable skidder, traction technology with the Uni Winch traction-assist winch for soil-friendly slope operations, timber measurement to KWF standard, saw chain service as well as safety felling and biotope maintenance. The machine fleet comprises three John Deere 1270 E harvesters (one with a permanently mounted traction winch), two 1210 E forwarders, two Uni Winch winches and two low loaders. Environmentally friendly lubricants and biodegradable wear oils are used. Customers include HessenForst as well as private forest administrations. The company, with several employees, operates in Hesse and the Rhön region; machine readiness is ensured by the company's own equipment hall 'Am Rehacker' in Sinntal-Weichersbach.
