About HATAG Maritime
HATAG Maritime, based in Hamburg, develops, manufactures and distributes the HATAG FRF Fouling Release Film, a silicone-based, multilayer film for biocide-free antifouling protection in the underwater area of ships and maritime structures. The FRS (Fouling Release System) supplementary system consists of an epoxy-based, solvent-free adhesion primer with a corrosion protection barrier plus the FRF film. The effectiveness of the film is certified by DNV. According to tests, resistance reductions of 8 to 14 percent and fuel savings of up to ten percent can be achieved without releasing toxins or microplastics into the water. Application is carried out through a network of certified applicators, proven inter alia at shipyards such as Bredo; a pilot project on the gas tanker "Rhogas" of shipping company Sloman Neptun was positive. In addition to production and distribution, the company conducts research and development in surface technology applications in the maritime sector, also for recreational boats and yachts.
