About Hauksson Weine
Hauksson Weine is a wine-growing enterprise led by an Icelandic winemaker, based in Rüfenach in the canton of Aargau. The company cultivates vineyards in Remigen, Döttingen and Klingnau, which are characterised by limestone and clay soils and offer ideal conditions for Burgundian grape varieties. Cultivation is biodynamic; inspired by regenerative agriculture, Ouessant dwarf sheep graze among the vines all year round. To promote biodiversity, wild roses and herbs are planted, which also serve as the basis of the company's own Vermouth production. In the cellar, the wines undergo spontaneous fermentation, with the use of machinery and chemicals reduced to a minimum. The wines are distributed in Switzerland via the company's own online shop; an additional business line is shipping to Iceland.
