Haus Kölscher Brautradition GmbH, based in Cologne, is a company of the Radeberger Group and distributes the Kölsch brand Gilden Kölsch. The history of the brand dates back to the 13th century, when Cologne merchants met in the Gildenhaus opposite the town hall; in 1869 the Gildenhaus became the home and namesake of Gilden Kölsch, which at that time was brewed on the right bank of the Rhine. Today, Gilden Kölsch is represented citywide in Cologne as so-called Veedelskölsch and is served primarily in the hospitality sector – in pubs, clubs, restaurants and bars, which are regarded as an expression of Cologne's Veedels (neighborhood) culture. The brand also includes the traditional Kölsch brewpub "Gilden im Zims" in Cologne's old town. The company is registered with the Cologne district court (Amtsgericht Köln) under HRB 24654.
