About Hausbrauerei Schmitz Mönk
The Hausbrauerei Schmitz Mönk brewpub in Willich-Anrath, located between Düsseldorf, Krefeld and Mönchengladbach, is run by the Schmitz family in its fifth generation. Founded in 1897, when Wilhelm Schmitz purchased the property on today's Jakob-Krebs-Straße, the first top-fermenting beer of its own was brewed from 1903 onwards. In the attached brewpub, the proprietor personally brews Mönk Alt, Mönk Weizen, Mönk Kellerbier and, twice a year, the strong beer Mönk Bock. The restaurant with 80 seats and a cosy bar includes three Bundeskegelbahnen (bowling lanes) as well as various rooms for events of 10 to 250 people. The kitchen serves hearty home-style dishes à la carte and caters to individual culinary wishes for events. In addition, party kegs are offered for off-premises sale.
