About Hawle Kunststoff & Service

Hawle Kunststoff & Service GmbH, based in Wiehl, manufactures pipes, manhole structures, tanks and stormwater retention systems from the plastics PEHD (PE-HD) and PP. These are based on the profile winding process developed and patented in-house as early as 1956, which achieves higher ring stiffness than solid-wall pipes with reduced material usage. The pipe system is manufactured in accordance with DIN EN 13476 and covers nominal sizes from DN 300 to DN 3500; joints are created by extrusion welding (all nominal sizes), push-fit joints up to DN 1800 and heated-wire welding up to DN 700. The product range extends from drinking water and wastewater valve manholes, pump and well manholes, via drinking water, fire water and spring water reservoirs, to the stormwater retention system developed since 1970 for combined sewer networks as well as tanks and pipelines for industry and landfill technology. In addition, the company offers in-house prefabrication, welding technology for pipeline construction, technical consulting and installation on construction sites.

Materials and Joining Techniques

PEHD

PE-HD (high-density polyethylene)

Main material for profile-wound pipes, manholes and tanks; suitable for drinking water, chemically resistant and impact-resistant even below 0 °C.

PP

Polypropylene

Material for pipes and retention systems with high chemical, abrasion and temperature resistance.

VA

Stainless steel

Used for manhole covers, doors and perforated plates, e.g. for the spring collection manhole.

WICK

Profile winding process

Proprietary process patented in 1956 for pipes with high ring stiffness and reduced material usage.

EX-SCH

Extrusion welding

Joining technique for all nominal sizes DN 300–3500.

HW-SCH

Heated-wire welding

Welded joint up to DN 700, only for PEHD.

STECK

Push-fit joint

Joint up to DN 1800, which can also be installed by construction companies without the manufacturer's own installers.

FRÄS

Milling technology

In-house machining of plastic components.
