About HD Hyundai Robotics
HD Hyundai Robotics is a South Korean manufacturer of industrial robots headquartered in Dalseong County, Daegu, and a subsidiary of HD Hyundai. The company was established in 2020 as a spin-off from the Robot Division of Hyundai Heavy Industries, whose robotics team had existed since 1984. The portfolio includes multi-axis articulated robots for welding, handling and assembly, collaborative robots (HDC series, up to 50 kg payload), FPD robots for handling LCD glass, proprietary robot controllers (Hi6) as well as peripheral equipment such as positioners and turntables. In addition, the company offers automation lines for press and engine assembly, painting, sealing and heavy-plate arc welding as well as services ranging from engineering through installation to after-sales support. At the Smart Factory in Daegu (26,214 m²), around 10,000 robots are produced per year, and a second plant in Jiangsu, China, produces approx. 3,000 units per year. Customers come from the automotive, shipbuilding, construction machinery, logistics, metal/mechanical engineering, electrical/electronics, semiconductor/FPD and food service industries.

Materials and Applications
Aluminium
Aluminium cast components are joined with steel using the RSR hybrid joining process, among other things for battery housing frames in electric vehicles.
Ultra-high-strength steel (up to 2000 MPa)
Joined with aluminium cast parts in a single joining process using the RSR solution approach.
Steel
Used in automated welding of underframes, excavator parts and heavy-plate constructions.
Metal (CNC machining)
Machining of metal components in automated machine-tending lines (Labot package solution).
