HEDELIUS Maschinenfabrik GmbH is an independent family business founded in 1967 and headquartered in Meppen. The company develops and produces vertical CNC travelling-column machining centres, including 3-axis, 4-axis and 5-axis machines of the ACURA, TILTENTA and FORTE series, as well as automation solutions of the MARATHON series and manufacturer-independent interface solutions. The product range is aimed at single-part as well as small and medium series production in mechanical engineering, the automotive industry and toolmaking. Critical assemblies such as travelling columns, beds and rotary-swivel tables are machined in the company's own 1,800 m² machining plant, on 5-axis centres for workpieces up to 30 t and 12 m in length. Production takes place on a 25,000 m² production area, complemented by a technology centre with 12 machining centres and 6 automation systems for test machining operations as well as a CNC academy for operator and programming training. The machines use, among other things, heavily ribbed feed slides made of grey cast iron. Customers include machine manufacturers and suppliers from agricultural machinery, aerospace, automotive, packaging technology and medical technology, among others; according to the company, more than 3,700 machining centres are in use at customers throughout Europe.
