About us

Heidelberg Coatings Dr. Rentzsch GmbH is an owner-managed, mid-sized family company based in Heidelberg, in existence since 1952. The product range comprises furniture paints, parquet paints, special paints, barrel paints, stains as well as oils and waxes on water- and solvent-based formulations, including the HEIDELBERG PROLiGNUM product line with natural, renewable raw materials. Production takes place in an automated production plant for solvent-based paints (since 2004) and in a modern water-based paint production facility (since 2014). Products are developed, optimized and tested in the in-house laboratory and technical center; every liter of paint is inspected before delivery. Customers come from the furniture industry, the parquet and flooring industry, door and staircase construction as well as from trade and craft businesses. The export share is approximately 40 percent, primarily to Europe, the Near and Far East, and South America; the technical field service analyzes application systems on site and advises on machine settings.
