Who we are

Heidelberg Technology & Innovation (HDTI) is a team of specialized engineers with many years of experience in turbocharger and turbomachinery development, founded in 2025 by former engineers of IHI Charging Systems International following that company's operational closure. The four partners contributed for over 15 years to high-quality charging concepts for European automotive brands such as AUDI, Mercedes, BMW, Lamborghini, Maserati, Porsche and Ferrari. HDTI offers engineering services across the entire product life cycle: concept development with 1D system simulation, product design (Design-to-Cost, Design-to-Manufacturing), structural, thermal and flow simulation (FEA, CFD, rotor dynamics, digital twins) as well as test planning, test bench design and validation including inspection. Business focus areas are high-performance turbocharging, electrified turbomachinery, value-optimized BoP components for fuel cells (hydrogen technology) and a novel turbo compressor for high-temperature heat pumps based on the reverse Brayton cycle with air as the working fluid. The company operates from Heidelberg, working with partners in design, testing and materials science.
