About us
Heinrich Ebel GmbH + Co. KG is a family business founded in 1930, now in its third generation, headquartered in Arnsberg in the Sauerland region. In three quarries, the company extracts and processes hard-rock aggregates: chippings, crushed stone, crushed sands and construction material mixtures made from Kulmplatten limestone and Kramenzel limestone. The crushed aggregates feature a good grain shape and a high resistance to impact, and thanks to their frost resistance they are suitable as aggregate for concrete and asphalt as well as for track ballast, frost protection and ballast base course material. Fields of application include structural engineering, civil engineering, road, bridge and hydraulic engineering, track construction, landscaping, and infrastructure projects in the region. The company operates its own construction materials laboratory with external monitoring and continuous materials testing, its own in-house workshop service for repairs, and since mid-2025 it has distributed its products via the co-founded MBV Mineralische Baustoff Vertriebsgesellschaft mbH & Co. KG.

Rocks and processing methods
Kulmplatten limestone
Sedimentary rock from the Habbel and SBH plants with good grain shape and high impact resistance for crushed stone, chippings and construction material mixtures.
Kramenzel limestone
Limestone quarried at the Effenberg plant, partly reddish in colour, for a wide range of applications in structural and civil engineering.
Siliceous shale
Rock extracted at the Effenberg plant with special properties.
Limestone (hard rock)
Basic raw material for certified aggregates with high strength and natural frost resistance.
Topsoil
Soil sourced from the Münsterland for landscaping at the SBH location.

History
- 1930
Founded by Heinrich Ebel; initially boundary stones and stone chips for road construction as well as foundation stones for structural engineering.
- 1955
Expansion of the Habbel plant (Kulmplatten limestone) and development of the Effenberg location (Kramenzel limestone) during the economic miracle; investments in modern processing plants for asphalt and concrete aggregates.
- 2002
Takeover of the Herdringen quarry operation (SBH Gebr. Neveling).
- 2025
Distribution and delivery via the co-founded MBV Mineralische Baustoff Vertriebsgesellschaft mbH & Co. KG (mbminerals.de).
